The Bakery

We pride ourselves on being a traditional style bakery where the majority of the products sold are made on the premises.

We produce a wide selection of bread, made in the traditional way with a bulk fermentation period. In addition to our normal weekly selection (white, wholemeal, multi grain, rye and French bread) we also produce speciality breads at the weekend or to order (subject to minimum order) - sunflower and rye, ciabatta, fitty, spelt, low g.i. We have the facility to slice bread, if required.

Our savoury products include our famous hand raised beef and pork pies - delicious hot from the oven with a crisp golden crust with a filling of meat and juices. We also manufacture sausage rolls, Cornish rolls, steak or chicken pies and vegetable pasties to name but a few. These are all baked on a daily basis and sold the same day. Some of these products are available for home baking and may be purchased frozen and unbaked.

Each of our shops produces its own sandwiches on a daily basis (with bread made that day) - these can be purchased ready made or, alternatively, on Monday to Friday there is a 'Made to Measure' counter where you can choose your own fillings. Also available for purchase are crisps and drinks - both cold and hot (freshly ground coffee, hot chocolate and home made soups in the winter months).

At Christmas and Easter we sell seasonal chocolate lines, the majority of which are made in a dedicated chocolate production room from the finest Belgian chocolate. These include such things as filled chocolates, chocolate truffles and figures and personalised Easter eggs all attractively packaged.
